Pallet wrap & stretch film
Stretch film is the right product for palletised loads. It is applied cold and holds by elastic recovery, unlike shrink film which needs heat. If you have been quoted "shrink wrap" for pallets, you almost certainly want stretch film — we will confirm which you need before quoting.

Ask us for a film usage review. Most sites wrap by habit rather than by specification, and typically apply 30–50% more film than the load requires. We will measure grams of film per pallet on your actual loads and show you the cost per pallet on two or three alternative specifications. It is free, it takes about an hour on site, and it frequently saves more than any discount we could offer.

Hand protection
Hand injuries are the most common reportable injury in manufacturing and warehousing, and the most common cause is the wrong glove rather than no glove. We specify against the task. Every line below is CE certified with the Declaration of Conformity held on file.
| Line | Standard | Specification | Pack | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|

Respiratory protection
Disposable filtering facepieces to EN 149 and reusable half masks to EN 140. Respiratory protection is the category most often bought on the wrong assumption — the class must be chosen against the actual substance and its exposure limit, not by picking the highest number.
| Line | Standard | Specification | Pack | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FFP1 fold-flat | EN 149 · FFP1 | ≥80% filtration, protection factor 4 | Box of 20 | Nuisance dust — sanding, sweeping, general housekeeping |
| FFP2 cup, valved | EN 149 · FFP2 | ≥94% filtration, protection factor 10 | Box of 20 | Wood dust, cement, mineral dusts, general workshop |
| FFP3 cup, valved | EN 149 · FFP3 | ≥99% filtration, protection factor 20 | Box of 10 | Hardwood dust, silica, welding fume, most toxic particulates |
| FFP3 fold-flat, unvalved | EN 149 · FFP3 | Individually wrapped, flat-pack | Box of 20 | Where exhaled air must also be filtered, or storage space is tight |
| Reusable half mask | EN 140 | Silicone or TPE facepiece, bayonet filter fitting | Each | Regular or prolonged exposure — cheaper per shift than disposables |
| P3 particulate filters | EN 143 | Pair, to suit half mask above | Pair | Replacement filters for particulates |
| A1P3 combined filters | EN 14387 | Organic vapour plus particulate | Pair | Solvents, paints, adhesives with dust present |
| Face fit test kit | — | Qualitative, bitrex solution | Kit | Required to demonstrate an adequate seal per wearer |
Face fit testing is a legal requirement, and most sites are not doing it. Tight-fitting respiratory protective equipment only works if it seals against the individual wearer's face, and under COSHH the employer must ensure a suitable fit for each person. A beard, or simply a different face shape, can make an FFP3 no better than an FFP1. We supply qualitative fit test kits and can point you to accredited testers — and we would rather flag this than sell you masks that will not protect anyone.
Valved or unvalved? A valve makes the mask cooler and easier to breathe through over a long shift, which means it actually gets worn. But it vents unfiltered exhaled air, so it is unsuitable where the wearer must be prevented from contaminating the surroundings — food production, clean areas, or anywhere a sterile environment matters. Tell us the setting and we will tell you which one you need.

Hi-vis & workwear
All garments certified to EN ISO 20471 with the notified body certificate held on file. Logo printing and embroidery applied in-house, so branded garments come back on the same lead time as plain ones.

| Hi-vis softshell jacket | EN ISO 20471 Cl.3 | Water-resistant, breathable, fleece-backed | S–4XL | Yard supervisors, outdoor operations |
| Hi-vis bomber jacket | EN ISO 20471 Cl.3 / EN 343 | Waterproof, quilted lining, detachable sleeves | S–4XL | Winter outdoor work, transport yards |
| Hi-vis trousers | EN ISO 20471 Cl.1 | Polycotton, knee pad pockets | 28"–46" | Worn with Class 2 top for combined Class 3 |
| Hi-vis coverall | EN ISO 20471 Cl.3 | Polycotton, concealed zip, elasticated back | S–4XL | Plant maintenance, rail, utilities |
| Logo printing | — | Heat-applied vinyl or screen print, up to 4 positions | — | Applied without compromising certified tape area |
A note on branding and certification. Applying a logo to a certified hi-vis garment can invalidate its EN ISO 20471 classification if it reduces or obstructs the required area of fluorescent background or retroreflective tape. We position and size logos to stay within the standard, and we will tell you if a requested placement is not compliant rather than just printing it.

Understanding the standards
If you are being asked to sign off a PPE purchase, these are the only three things you need to be able to read.
EN 388 — mechanical hazards (gloves)
The code reads left to right in a fixed order: abrasion (0–4), coupe cut (0–5), tear (0–4), puncture (0–4), then a cut letter A–F from the EN ISO 13997 test, and optionally P for impact protection. An X means the test was not applicable or not performed.
So a glove marked 4X42C has the highest abrasion rating, no valid coupe result (normal on cut-resistant yarns, which blunt the blade), tear level 4, puncture level 2, and cut level C. The letter is the one that matters for cut risk — A is lowest, F is highest.
Higher is not better. Cut level is chosen against the hazard, not maximised. A level F glove used for carton picking is uncomfortable, expensive, and will end up in a pocket rather than on a hand — which is a worse outcome than a level B glove that gets worn all shift. Dexterity is a safety feature.
EN ISO 20471 — high-visibility clothing
Garments are classified by the area of fluorescent background material and retroreflective tape they carry:
- Class 1 — lowest coverage. Trousers and some accessories. Not sufficient on its own for most sites.
- Class 2 — the standard warehouse, yard and internal logistics specification.
- Class 3 — highest coverage, requires sleeves. Required for highways, rail and low-light or high-speed environments.
Class 1 trousers worn with a Class 2 top can achieve Class 3 as a combined ensemble, which is often the cheaper and more comfortable route to a Class 3 requirement.
EN 149 — disposable respirators (FFP classes)
Filtering facepieces are graded by how much of the airborne particulate they remove and, more usefully, by their assigned protection factor — how many times the exposure limit they can be used up to:
- FFP1 — at least 80% filtration, protection factor 4. Nuisance dust only.
- FFP2 — at least 94% filtration, protection factor 10. Most general industrial dusts.
- FFP3 — at least 99% filtration, protection factor 20. Toxic particulates, silica, hardwood dust, welding fume.
Choose the class by comparing the measured or estimated airborne concentration against the substance's workplace exposure limit. If the concentration is eight times the limit, an FFP2 at factor 10 is adequate; an FFP1 at factor 4 is not.
EN 374 — chemical and micro-organism protection
Applies to chemical-resistant gloves and is graded by permeation breakthrough time against specified test chemicals. Type A, B and C indicate how many test chemicals the glove resisted for the required duration. If your site decants or handles chemicals, the glove must be selected against the specific substance — not against a general "chemical resistant" claim.
CE and UKCA. CE marking is recognised in Great Britain indefinitely for personal protective equipment, so CE-marked PPE remains fully valid for sale and use in GB. We hold the Declaration of Conformity and, where the product is Category II or III, the notified body certificate for every PPE line we supply. Ask and we will send them.
